IDA-SOFIE’S SUMMER GEMS

Meet Ida-Sofie, our dedicated Guest Relations Supervisor, ready to customize your stay to your needs and interests. With her inside knowledge, she will guide you to the city’s best spots and experiences. Make sure to discover her top 5 musts this summer season.

One of Ida-Sofie’s most cherished and secret finds this season is outside The Nobel Peace Center. Every Friday at noon, you can witness a dove flying away with a message of hope. This could be a message from a Nobel Peace Prize winner or news about significant progress in the world. As the dove flies away, the city hall bells chime John Lennon’s iconic song, “Give Peace a Chance”.

A culinary experience you would not want to miss is our Rooftop Restaurant & Bar, where you’ll be dining  with a view that is as spectacular as the flavors on your plate. Try our 3-course set menu, which offers optional choices for both fish and meat, with a new menu every month. Rain or sunshine, our cozy bar with portable glass walls and a sliding “cabriolet” roof keeps you comfortable. Enjoy light snacks, classic cocktails and a DJ spinning up the mood every Friday and Saturday — the perfect spot to unwind with friends and family.

THIEF Spa is the perfect place to relax and unwind this summer. Take a swim in our  12-meter pool to wash away your worries. Find your way to the steam room, where a gentle warmth wraps you like a comforting embrace. When you visit our spa, be sure to try our salt scrub and facial mask, which will leave your skin feeling soft and deeply moisturized. With the summer sun shining, the clear waters of the Oslofjord offer a perfect way to beat the heat and embrace the summer at Tjuvholmen.

For a complete recharge – don’t miss our bestselling package: Afternoon Tea & Massage, offering 90 minutes massage followed by a delightful Afternoon Tea at THIEF Restaurant.

Discover the many islands just outside of Tjuvholmen. Explore by yourself or bring a private guide to enhance your experience. Catch a ferry to Langøyene where you can relax on a big sandy beach and take a refreshing swim in the ocean.
For history enthusiasts, I would recommend taking a ferry to Hovedøya, where you will find the ruins of a Cistercian monastery from 1147, where it is said that this monastery was one of Norway’s wealthiest. While you are there, you might even spot a fox wandering around on the island.

Take the shortest ferry ride to the island, Bygdøynes or arrive in your own boat to Lille Herbern restaurant. Dine outside by the sea and savor fresh seafood or Josper-grilled specialties. Would you rather prefer a table inside where you can enjoy their culinary creations while taking in the panoramic views through large windows.
